Over the last several years, the Ultimate Ears BOOM speakers have quickly gained traction as the brand’s most recognized and best-selling products. Under normal circumstances, the front of box image would represent the speaker within the package, however, with the introduction of a new, full customizable version of the speaker, a universal packaging solution was needed.
It is important to note that this product would be shipping directly to the consumer with no need for a retail environment. As a result, many of the unnecessary graphic elements were removed from the sleeve, leaving only the iconic plus and minus volume control buttons, as graphic elements, found on all Ultimate Ears products.
The business group was encouraged by the minimalist approach and the incorporation of the graffiti elements, and wanted to further enhance the packaging experience. As a response, a pattern was created utilizing the plus and minus, applied as a spot gloss layer, and only visible when reflecting light.
The myBoom 3 speaker launched around the world with a powerful online marketing campaign, integrated streaming features, and an optional power dock, with custom orders ranging from 3-4 weeks.
