This packaging execution is keeping in line with Logitech’s brand guidelines, removing all unnecessary graphic elements, and celebrating the product as hero. Photography was also met with an honest, straight-forward approach, giving consumers an accurate representation of both size and shape.

To achieve the contrast needed to capture the dark product image against a dark background, it was necessary to use a spot varnish layer. This acts as a second function, as the gloss layer mimics the reflective behavior of the actual product.

The retail environment can be unforgiving, and an effort is always made to predict and circumvent these challenges as best as possible. One example is when retailers install electronic anti-theft devices on expensive products, significantly limiting the visibility of the product image, and reducing the packaging’s effectiveness.

By simply including the camera mount as part of the image, the camera was no longer directly centered on the front of the box, but elevated, and now free from any visual obstructions. The packaging sides are filled with relevant product information including technical specifications, compatibility, and system requirements.
